People Behind MDM
Dave Co-Founded MDM with Mark Seton in 1999. He has worked in fire publishing for over 22 years. He is principally responsible for IFP Magazine.
Mark is co-founder of MDM Publishing Ltd and runs our APF Magazine. He has worked in the Publishing industry for over 21 years.
International Sales Manager
Mark has been involved with the fire publishing industry for over 21 years and is the International Sales Manager for IFF Magazine.
Website & IT Manager
Neil, Joined MDM in 2014 from the motor trade industry. He has over 10 years of website and IT management experience
Richard graduated with a degree in Graphic Design in 2003. Since then he has worked for several large publishers. He joined the MDM Publishing team in 2014.
Kevin joined MDM in October 2005. He has 30 years of Accounts Management experience.
Neil’s background is in the management of fire services. He was CEO of the Country Fire Authority, Assistant Chief of Melbourne Fire Brigade and is currently chairman of the Emergency Services Foundation. He has 40 years experience in the emergency services and related industries. He has worked with Australian, US, UK and Chinese Fire Services as well as working in Vietnam, Papua New Guinea and Fiji on various aid projects helping to build emergency services for these countries. Neils main focus is the editorial content for Asia Pacific Fire.
Neil’s wide experience consists of 32 years in the fire service including 20 years through the ranks in London Fire Brigade, and subsequently
as Chief Fire Officer commanding one of the largest regional UK fire brigades. Amongst Neil’s awards is the Queen’s Commendation for Brave Conduct for leadership during a major London hotel fire, and the Le Croix Chevalier Est Accordee for his work with international fire services. A Past International President of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), he is the author of 17 fire related books. Neil consults widely in the GCC region.
Duncan is a fire and event safety specialist with a particular focus on crowd dynamic issues. He retired from the fire and rescue service in 2016 after 30 years as an operational response officer. He has attended many high profile operational incidents including the Buncefield Oil Terminal fire in 2005, Gloucester Floods of 2007 and the M5 Motorway tragedy in 2011. Prior to retiring Duncan was responsible for event safety and led the fire and event safety teams for the Glastonbury Festival of Performance Arts, 2012 Olympic Torch Relay, Tour of Britain and numerous other large scale outdoor events.
Phil joined MDM after a 34-year career in the UK Fire and Rescue Service. Phil has experience in a wide range of Fire and Rescue Service references and disciplines serving in all ranks up to and including a period as Chief Fire Officer retiring from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service. Phil is a Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers having served on the International Council and as a Branch President. He is a graduate of the Fire and Rescue Service Executive Leadership Programme and has worked with US Fire and Rescue Services. He also holds Her Majesty the Queen’s Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.
